About
Welcome to Trattoria Sabatino, a charming culinary gem nestled in the heart of Florence, Italy, at Via Pisana, 2R. As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I am excited to share my impressions of this delightful trattoria that captures the essence of authentic Italian dining.
Stepping inside Trattoria Sabatino feels like being embraced by a warm, familial atmosphere reminiscent of a beloved Italian grandmother's home. The restaurant brims with character, and it's this inviting ambiance that lures both locals and tourists alike. The friendly, family-run staff ensures that you are not just a customer, but a guest in their home, making every visit a memorable experience.
From the first course to dessert, the offerings at Trattoria Sabatino are nothing short of extraordinary. Diners rave about the homemade food, echoing sentiments like "soulful" and "flavorful." Be sure to try their bistecca alla fiorentina—a traditional T-bone steak that serves as a highlight of the menu. Its preparation speaks to the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity, though be mindful to arrive early for smaller cuts, as they sell out quickly.
The menu is thoughtfully crafted, offering a selection of hearty first and second courses accompanied by delicious sides and desserts that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. As one customer put it, "Get dessert. The best sweets we’ve had in Florence." You will find yourself enchanted by the house specialty, torta alla semola, a divine treat that captures the essence of regional flavors.
Affordability remains a key highlight, with many customers commenting on the exceptional value for the quality provided. "We were shocked by how cheap it was," one diner noted, showcasing the trattoria's effort to remain accessible while serving delectable dishes. It's not uncommon for patrons to leave with full bellies and lighter wallets, having enjoyed a splendid array of flavors without breaking the bank.
If you find yourself in the vibrant streets of Florence, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Trattoria Sabatino. Arrive early to avoid long queues and immerse yourself in the delightful world of authentic Italian cuisine. Each plate served is a testament to the heart and soul poured into their food. You’ll not only satiate your hunger but also create lasting memories that will beckon you to return. Experience the charm, warmth, and flavors that make Trattoria Sabatino a must-visit destination.
“ Amazing soulful food, couldn’t recommend it more. From starters to dessert, everything was delicious. From the minute you walk in you feel like you walked into your Italian grandparents home. Did not feel rushed at all even though there was a big queue outside, make it so much more enjoyable and welcoming. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating! We cannot wait to come back when we are next in Florence! ”
“ If I could rate it 10 stars I would. Amazing food, genuinely so delicious and flavourful. Service was fast and accurate. Friendly, local feel with heaps of character. Ordered almost everything and was only €40 Worth lining up for 10 minutes. Cannot recommend any higher. PS. Get dessert. The best sweets we’ve had in Florence. ”
“ Found this restaurant by chance, came here for an evening meal. The queues begin before the restaurant is open. We came at 8:30 in the evening and got seated at 9:40. The queue is long but it moves fast as people eat then leave. It serves homemade food with a first, second course with sides and dessert, the quality of food is good for a traditional Italian trattoria. For a family run business the service is very good, the staff are attentive. Prices are reasonable and affordable. Recommend to come here as early as possible and try the food here. You will be satisfied. ”
“ Exceptional! We waited 45 minutes in line, but it was totally worth it. The staff was made up of all family members, which gave the traditional Italian trattoria atmosphere, which was very cozy. The food was so good that we ended up ordering more. A small note is that if you want a smaller cut of the bistecca alla fiorentina (T-bone steak), you need to arrive early, because when we got there they only had cuts above 1.6 kilos, which was too much for two people. They have a wide selection of wine at super cheap prices. For dessert, I had the torta alla semola, which was incredible. When we got the receipt, we were shocked by how cheap it was. We would 1000% recommend it, no matter how long the wait! ”
“ There was a bit of a wait to get in due to the long queues, but it was absolutely worth it. The restaurant has a warm, homely atmosphere, being family-run—with even the grandmothers helping out and providing such friendly service. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I’d highly recommend this place! ”
“ We waited for about 45 minutes to get in, and it was totally worth it. Amazing roast beef and excellent red wine. It became our favorite restaurant during our trip to Florence. We even went back one more time before leaving. Everything from the salad to the dessert was absolutely delicious. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Prices are also very reasonable. Thank you for everything! ”
“ Nice place with great people and good quality price ratio. There was some queue when they did open but it moved pretty fast. Don't expect anything fancy, but was nice to try ”
“ Come early and expect to stand in line, but it is worth it! If you want to feel like your eating dinner at your Italian Grandparents family get-together, then this is the place. We waited in line about 30 minuets, and then was seated at a table with other diners already there. Even with the language barrier, the others were friendly and made you feel at ease. The servers were to the point but patient with us foreigners. The food was outstanding. Nothing over the top "Touristy" like the rest of Florence. Just good, authentic Italian food. If you want to experience Italy, then you need to experience Trattoria Sabatino. ”
